Develop models for predicting the laminar flow characteristics of non-circular straight ducts.
Develop models for predicting the heat transfer and fluid friction characteristics for parallel and transverse flow through Offset Strip Fin (OSF) arrays.
Obtain experimental data for transverse flow through an offset strip fin for a wide range of geometrical parameters.
Develop models for the louvred fin and corrugated rib geoemtries.
Obtain experimental data for various ribbed duct and louvred fin configurations.

General models for predicting friction factors and Nusselt numbers for fully developed, thermally developing, and simultaneously developing flow in non-circular ducts.
General models for predicting the friction factor and Colburn factor in Offset Strip Fin arrays for parallel and transverse flow.
Models are developed by combining the asymptotic behaviour for various flow regions.
Models for each flow region are analytically based.
Models predict the thermal/hydraulic characteristics of non-circular ducts within +/- 12 percent and within +/- 20 percent for the Offset Strip Fin arrays.
